Then came Nebraska. That state is way too long in my opinion. We had to break it up into two days because I'm convinced you would go crazy if you drove through that entire state all at once. Something interesting was that the freeway was pretty much the path that the Mormon pioneers traveled. I am so glad I am not a pioneer. Here I was sitting in my air-conditioned car with my gatorade and pillow and portable DVD player watching Jack Bauer beat the crap out of evil and explaining everything in the car and I was still sickened by how long it took. Boy am I spoiled. I can just imgine these poor pioneers who came from the green, tree-filled states of Ohio and Pennsylvania and then all of the sudden they step foot and Wyoming. I can just imagine them saying:
"WHAT THE CRAP?! HAVEN'T WE BEEN HERE BEFORE!? IF I SEE ONE MORE PIECE OF DRY SHRUB ON THE GROUND I'M SERIOUSLY GOING TO KICK MYSELF IN THE HEAD WITH MY OX!"
Yeah. And it didn't get much better. Once we were driving down the canyon in Utah, it was definitely gorgeous and pleasing to the eye to see mountains and waterfalls but all of that was obscured by the nasty gut feeling of nervous-ness that I had from the thought that I would be living there and going to school and I freaked out a bit. Yeah I know I can always go home, mom, and I don't have to go, but that's just stupid and I need to just suck it up and rip the band-aid off. It'll be awesome and I'm sure I'll love it. It's the right thing to do and I'm excited for school. It's just the nervous feeling that every student goes through when going to college. Yeah. This is what I've been telling myself anyway. :)
So I move in Wednesday and start school next Monday. I'm stoked and nauseated. But it might just be the pizza.
Right on.
